
Mataram | Mar 16, 2020 | Almost 3 month of closed due to rainy season and annual ecosystem recovery. Rinjani National Park will continue to close due to Covid 19 outbreak. Base on Offical letter issued by Rinjani National Park management, register number PG 928/T.39/TU/KSA/12/2019 (Dec 27th, 2019), Rinjani mountain suppose to be reopen on April 1st, 2020. “Today we regret to inform you that Rinjani will close for trekking activity till further notice due to covid 19” Social media admin of Rinjani National Park said.
On official letter that National park issued today, signed by Head of National park. This closure is extending the last letter that issued on Dec 27th. There is no any prediction when the park will reopen for trekking. It really base on how the covid 19 in Indonesia.
Hopefully everything will be normal and the tourist activities at the National park back to business. Thousand of local are demanding on tourist activity at the mountain, most of them are porters and guide. On 2018 (end of July), Rinjani also closed due to earthquake and reopen again on June 2019. Basically Rinjani only open for 6 month after long closed.
